The fourth RAAHO workshop took place in Campos do Jordao – Basil and was attended by 38 participants from 12 countries. An important achievement of the workshop was the participation, for the first time, of representatives from southern South America like Brazil, Bolivia and Argentina. Subjects like organizational support to emerging banding schemes, bands and marks, training and certification, data bases, ethics and bird safety and permits were discussed through a series of talks. Also, various projects were presented such as Aves Internacionales, Hummingbird Monitoring Network and The purple martin conservation association among others. At the end of each session participants were involved in discussions which resulted in the formulation of the main conclusions in the workshop’s proceedings. The proceedings are available for download and contain a short summary of all the presentations and talks that were given, the discussions and conclusions and those activities identified as important with their responsible party.
